Thomas Beeker himself, the grand knowledgable man who had come to understand so much through his own life experiences, through his own studies, and through countless dedicated hours in many areas, had failed to recognize how bleak darkness can really get.

And here this left Beeker in a bit of a rough patch, his own misfortune being that he sought out too many details and failed to look at the overall image. And so we’ve ended up with a singular Thomas Beeker wondering what is is that he’s done wrong with life. Beeker lays in a pool of his own blood, and yet somehow, he laughs. Thomas Beeker laughs at this particular moment the most he has ever laughed before. By the time Thomas Beeker got to a situation that he couldn’t figure out, it was the greatest punchline he had ever come to see.
